Macroscopic Models for Ionization in thePresence of Strong Electric Fields

چکیده
Starting from a kinetic model for electrons in a weakly ionized plasma, a spherical harmonic expansion (SHE-) model is derived by a formal asymptotic analysis for strongly disparate masses of electrons and ions. The macroscopic limit of the SHE-model for high elds gives a high eld extension of standard macroscopic models for ionization.

Introduction: The head scatter factor (Sc) is one of the important parameters for monitor unit (MU) calculation. There are multiple factors that impact the Sc values, such as, head structures, back scattering in to dose monitoring chambers, wedges and so on. This study aimed to investigate the variations of SC with different build-up cap materials, wall thickness, Source to ...

Semiclassical ionization dynamics of the hydrogen molecular ion in an electric field of arbitrary orientation Abstract. Quasi-static models of barrier suppression have played a major role in our understanding of the ionization of atoms and molecules in strong laser fields. Despite their success, in the case of diatomic molecules these studies have so far been restricted to fields aligned with t...

Quasi-static models of barrier suppression have played a major role in our understanding of the ionization of atoms and molecules in strong laser fields. Despite their success, in the case of diatomic molecules these studies have so far been restricted to fields aligned with the molecular axis. In this paper we investigate the locations and heights of the potential barriers in the hydrogen mole...
متن کاملAn Impact Ionization Model Including Non-Maxwellian and Non-Parabolicity Effects
Accurate modeling of impact-ionization is a critical issue for submicron devices. It is well known that models based on the electric field or on the average carrier energy give a rather poor description of the problem. We show that by accounting for the average square energy an accurate analytical description of the distribution function can be given which can then be used to evaluate microscop...
